Optician/Lab Technician

Using prescriptions from Ophthalmologist and Optometrist, gathers information from the patient to assist the patient in finding frames and lenses. Makes recommendations for frame and lens selection. Takes measurement of patient's eyes to ensure the best possible fit and the best possible vision. Prepares work order for optical laboratory. Grinds and polishes lenses for proper fit on frames. Adjusts and dispenses glasses to patient. Provides excellent customer service.

Establishes rapport with patient, determining his/her needs and wants;Analyzes and interprets prescriptions;Determines the purpose of glasses, level of activity, and facial features;Illustrates and demonstrates frames and lenses best suited for patient;Takes measurement of patient's eyes to ensure the best possible fit and the best possible vision;Prepares work order for optical laboratory for grinding and mounting of lenses on frames;Documents and maintains patient record;Bills and processes patient payments;Contacts patient when glasses are received;Adjusts and dispenses glasses to patient;Responds and resolves patient complaints;Returns frames when necessary for correction;Places orders for replacement frames/lenses, as required by patients;Maintains frame boards in an appealing manner with prices and quantity;Posts and reconciles sales receipts at the end of the day;Maintains The Eye Expert operating hours;Other additional duties as assigned.
